Ours is a business of low power distance, one which de-emphasises status and instead stresses informality, frankness, and participation. If customers and agents can't speaK to us on their terms, then our business is poorer!
We offer flexible business & partnering opportunities to provide a better work/life balance for agents and those with whom we collaborate. This includes self-determined schedules, flexible working, buddying and home-based work.
We are keen to explore a fundamental question: why does conflict of interest persist, between so-called alternative medicine and Big Pharma. Fundamentally, why do some interest groups, notably rich pharmaceutical companies exert influence against natural health, if there are indeed large gains to be had for society?
We believe that most people have the ability to manage their own health and wellbeing, with the right tools, clear communication, support pathways, and structured training that will lead to a cultural shift towards so-called alternative medicine; as well as reduced stigma. We want to be at the forefront of providing accessible solutions that ease pain, discomfort and unpleasant symptoms, whilst also easing the burden on our healthcare system.
Big Pharma is fully aware that herbs can be more powerful and safer than synthetic drugs. For thousands of years, civilisations flourished using herbal remedies to treat common ailments, diseases, and injuries. The drug companies have enough money and political clout to ensure that we remain over-prescribed. Herbs in their natural form cannot be patented; they cut into profits. But this is no reason not to work together – indeed there are compelling reasons that we should.
German Herbal Medicine is a practice and research area championed by modern physicians, pharmacists, and health and wellness practitioners. Made A Tea company endorses this approach.
If Germany can, why not us?
Our business is focused not only on our bodies, but also on the environments in which we live. Ecological health acknowledges that people with health issues live in a larger ecosystem of information, health and food systems. This knowledge will be expressed; in our policies and practices, scaling from local to global. We see Made A Tea combining health, enrichment and environmental goals, as to focus only on individual health and wellbeing through herbal teas, without addressing environmental and societal needs, as inadequate.
